CRN 39 was founded in 2020 after a group of us realizing that although we work in somewhat separate law and society subdisciplines, the common thread is the relationship between everyday people and the law. In 2023, Access to Justice was added to reflect the broadening interest of our members. CRN 39 is a place to begin new conversations, resurrect classic law and society debates, share resources, and bridge the civil-criminal divide. Want to help us organize for LSA 2024? Let us know!
